After being released by São Paulo in December, Rivaldo revealed that he had no intention of hanging up his boots just yet. The former FIFA World Player of the Year was linked with a number of clubs in Brazil, but incredibly has chosen to continue his career in Africa after he agreed terms with Kabuscorp over a transfer to the Angolan outfit.

Earlier this week, the president of Kabuscorp stated that he was looking into the possibility of signing Rivaldo, and that the 39-year-old's age was not a problem at all.

"The opportunity for us to sign Rivaldo came up and we are striving to make it happen", Bento Kangamba said. "People talk about his age a lot, but a player with his quality and experience still has a lot to offer to football and, hopefully, Angola".

Rivaldo has now confirmed the move, and is certain that he will be happy with Kabuscorp.

"I received offers from several countries, but I chose Angola because of the language and because I liked the project.

"I have been a champion in every country where I have played, I have always given my best for every club I have represented, so I am confident.

"I am sure that I will be happy at Kabuscorp and in Angola".

This is not the first time Rivaldo has ventured off the beaten track, after notably spending two years in Uzbekistan with Bunyodkor. The Brazilian is keen to continue his playing career for another year, saying on his release by São Paulo that "this is not my farewell to football. My purpose is to finish my career at the end of 2012".
