Mano Menezes has omitted a string of stars from his 23-man squad to face Bosnia and Herzegovina in St Gallen, Switzerland on Feb 28.

Amongst the European-based casualties are Kaka, Lucio, Maicon, Robinho, Pato and Manchester United's Da Silva twins, while Menezes controversially finds a place for Flamengo's out-of-form playmaker Ronaldinho.

Luisao and David Luiz retain their place in defence alongside exciting Vasco da Gama prospect Dede, while this summer's Olympic games appear heavy on the Brazil coach's mind with eight eligible players selected.

They are Alex Sandro, Neymar, Ganso, Danilo, Lucas, Sandro, Leandro Damiao and Santos shot-stopper Rafael, who receives his Selecao debut call after a string of impressive club appearances.

Brazil will meet Denmark next in May, before embarking on a tour of the United States where they'll  face The Yanks on May 30, Mexico on June 3 and Argentina on June 9.
