Tolima topped the table at the start of play, but they were well beaten by local rivals Atlético Huila. Huila's flowing, intricate passing left Tolima chasing shadows and the home side scored three superb goals. A quick passing move through the centre opened up space for Miltón Rodriguez to fire Huila into the lead on 42 minutes. Rodriguez doubled the lead in the 78th minute, after Camilo Ayala pirouetted through the Tolima defence and lifted a cross to the far post. Jonathan Álvarez tucked away the third, after a stylish exchange of passes with Nelson Barahona.
Atlético Nacional returned to form on Thursday with a confident 4-0 win over bottom club Boyacá Chicó. Luis Fernando Mosquera was Nacional's stand-out performer. The attacking midfielder scored twice and was at the heart of all of Nacional's best work in the final third. Dorlan Pabon further enhanced his growing reputation with another impressive performance. The Colombian international scored a superb individual effort; skipping past his marker, Pabon cut in from the right at pace before firing across Abella in the Chicó goal.
Envigado picked up an excellent 3-0 win against Quindio at home on Saturday. Envigado edged a close first half, and Frank Farra fired the home side ahead just before the break. Andrés Felipe Orozco scored the second from close range and Néider Morantes scored the third with a well placed free kick.
Once Caldas dropped points at home to Itagui in a 2-2 draw in Manizales. All four goals were scored in the first half, and the home side drew level twice but were unable to score a winner in the second half. Dayro Moreno scored the best goal of the match on his first start since re-signing for the club.
Last seasons champions Atlético Junior will also be disappointed, as they were held 1-1 against Deportivo Pasto. Junior took the lead through Hernandez on the 29th minute, but Gilberto García scored a dramatic late goal from distance to draw the home side level.
Elsewhere Patriotas de Boyacá picked up their first victory with a 2-1 home win over Independiente Medellín, with second half goals by strikers Lazaga and Estupiñán.
Real Cartagena grabbed two late goals to dramatically deny Deportivo Cali in the coastal city on Saturday. Nazarith struck an excellent long range freekick in the first half, and Domínguez Cabezas clinically doubled the away side's lead on the 73rd minute. Hope was restored at the Jaime Morón Stadium in the 89th minute as Rodriguez Henry reduced the deficit from a corner. Real Cartagena then scored a dramatic 93rd minute equaliser, as Tavima Alba volleyed a lose ball into the net from close range.
Bogotá clubs Santa Fe and Millionarios both recorded wins this weekend, against Cúcuta and Equidad respectively. Santa Fe picked up a 2-0 home win with goals from Yulián Anchico and Edwin Cardona. Millonarios edged a close tie against local local rivals Equidad, with the winning goal coming from Osorio Botello in the second half.
