Itagu, Huila and Tolima all record narrow wins to edge above Atletico Nacional at the top of the Liga Postobon.
Atletico Nacional recalled their star players to face Tolima, but were beaten at home to the Andean club. Last weekend Atletico Nacional fielded a second eleven against rivals Millonarios and picked up a superb 3-2 away win. Nacional's talented pair of Pabon and Torres, who have combined to great effect this season, were unable to unlock a resolute Tolima defence. Both sides had ample chances to score, but it took until the 57th minute for the deadlock to be broken. Robin Ramirez was picked out with a cross from the left, and volleyed into an open net to give the away side a lead. Pabon and Cordoba both had chances late on but Antony Silva was on excellent form and Tolima held out to move above the Antioqueños in the league.
Huila continued their good form on Saturday, as they picked up a narrow win against Independiente Medellin. Sebastian Hernandez slipped a perfectly timed pass through to Milton Rodriguez, who held off his marker and tucked a tidy finish beyond Breiner Castillo to give Huila a lead in the 22nd minute. Both sides created plenty of chances, but one were converted and Huila moved into second position behind Itagui.
Deportivo Cali dominated possession at home against Itagui, but failed to create any real chances as they were wll beaten by the 'golden eagles'. Itagui had the first clear chance on the 35th minute, but Anderson Zapata volleyed against the bar from close range. Cristian Nazarit had a good opportunity for Deportivo Cali in the 51st minute, but headed wide. Itagui, who had been in control of the game, kicked into gear and finally took the lead on the 60th minute, as Efrain Viafara Molina ducked in front of his defender to head beyond veteran goalkeeper Farid Mondragon.
After a mixed start to the season La Equidad really turned on the style as they beat Cucuta at home 4-1. Stalin Motta arrived at the far post in the first five minutes to head the Bogotaños into the lead in the 2nd minute. On the 10th minute Darwin Andrade slid a perfect finish from the edge of the box beyond Buenaños to double the home sides lead. Cesar Mosquera was sent off in the 34th minute, but were able to pull a goal back after the break from the penalty spot. However, La Equidad took full advantage of the extra man in the second half. Camilo Valencia and Victor Lucumi linked up well, and Valencia scored twice to give 'the insurers' an impress win.
On Saturday Once Caldas and Millonarios drew 0-0 in Manizales, while Pasto's visit to newly promoted Patriotras also finished goalless.
Juan Gilberto Nuñez gave Atletico Junior Barranquilla the lead with a powerful volley after 10 minutes against Envigado. Midfielder Jonny Mosquera pulled Envigado level with a superb 30 yard volley in the 50th minute, before Freddy Hurtado headed a late winner for the home side. The well earned 2-1 win moves Envigado into 5th place, while Junior drop down into 12th.
Santa Fe drew 1-1 against Quindio in Bogota in Sundays final fixture. Francisco Meza headed the home side into the lead in the first half, but Hilton Murillo converted after an excellent passing move to draw the Armenia club level in the 76th minute.
